My
most awaited night finally came. The main entrance of Rizal Ballroom, Makati Shangri la Hotel was at its warm mood in embracing guest last May 15, 2012 as MediCard Phils.,Inc celebrated their 25th Anniversary Party.
As I looked around, I saw that everyone was at their fabulous outfit and wore
excellent smile. The ambience was shouting a loud that something big was ready
to unveil.
Lavish Food |
Faces
were marked with excitement as the door channeled to the centerfold of
attraction opened. I myself was stunned with what I saw in front of me, lavish
food, settee that arranged in a classy way and podium that adorned with a
concert like manner.
I
was in the midst of feasting on the buffet table until the voice over
intro hosts signaled to prepare us for more mouthwatering surprises cooked by
MediCard.
The Montoya brothers with faithful clients awardee |
MediCard
boosted the ears and eyes appetite of the audience that were composed of people
from HMO industries, top caliber brokers, agents, finest personalities from different
industries and media through awarding ceremony.
As the night got deeper, everyone’s spirits were going excited. The Rizal Ballroom was filled and seasoned with the astonishing voices of the group of artist from our local music industry.

MediCard 25th year’s celebration marked with the theme
“Building a Healthy Nation”was not possible without the “Saving a P1.00 a day” philosophy started from a
dignified man Dr. Nicanor Montoya.
The Chairman, Dr. Nicanor Montoya |
Pursuing a mission of providing quality
comprehensive healthcare services to many Filipinos, at a cost they could
afford.
Night’s crème of the top was served as they
launched the MediCard new and refreshed corporate logo. "It symbolizes its
rebirth after 25years of being pioneering HMO in the Philippines. As part of a
corporate strategy that stresses the company's brand promise of
giving the best healthcare available".
MediCard New & Refreshed Logo |
MediCard aims
to instill peace of mind and fulfillment, which are characteristics represented
in the logo by the purple hue. Blue, which has been MediCard’s official color,
represents trust, reliability, and calmness. The four Rx symbols that rotate
clockwise form a single icon to convey the message to MediCard clients that they
can avail of affordable medical services round the clock through its partner
doctors and medical institutions. The new logo also uses typefaces that make the
brand look modern and refreshing.
"The new logo also embodies MediCard’s corporate
culture. “We place an extremely strong emphasis on doing business the right way
for both our customers and our employees. That means caring for them and
treating them more as partners, being responsive, and anticipating their needs,”
Dr. Montoya said."

Sorry Josephine, if I deleted my old comment. My kids and I have Intellicare for our HMO's. It is part of the medical benefits we have for being call center agents at Convergys. Though there are some pre existing requirements for some cases. i was able to rely on it when two of my sons were confined at San Juan de Dios Hospital.
ReplyDeleteWe cater Intellicare also in the company I am with now. They have a comprehensive Healthcare benefits too for corporate clients mostly BPO’s. Are your dependents have pre-existing coverage too? Btw, it's Laids:)
DeleteOur company provides us Philcare card but sadly it doe snot cover the maternity case, and it does not extend to family members. :)
ReplyDeleteMommy Maye (http://momayes.blogspot.com)
Mommy Maye, some of the HMO Providers has a limited Healthcare benefits. Though most of them excludes Maternal related procedures/laboratory examinations.Only Pre and post natal consultations for the reason that Pregnancy is not illness.
DeleteWhich is better actually, MediCard or Intellicare?
ReplyDeleteCintamuni, both of them are better, and has a wide network and facilities. Benefits vary only depending on the approved coverage of the Company you are with.
DeleteMedicard has helped a lot of people. I just hope their premiums are not too high coz technically, I'm not employed.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! You may partner with MediCard through their newest RxER. It offers specialized healthcare maintenance service that covers emergency, preventive and outpatient care at lowest premium rates.
DeleteHere is the link: http://whatshotshoutitout.blogspot.com/2012/03/got-healthcare-card-medicard-rxer_4986.html
Nice to hear that. by the way, our company is using medicard. i am also endorsing this for my brother. kaso wala pa siyang money.
ReplyDeleteYou may refer RxER to your brother. Membership is only P1, 800.00 and is open to individuals or to groups of three at P3,500.00 who will enjoy no provisions for hierarchy, status and family relationships. See link below for additional info.

Wow, the celebration was indeed fabulous! I'm sure the management is also thankful to their clients for trusting them. The company won't last 25 years if it wasn't for the hard work of the people behind it - the employees. :)
ReplyDeleteVery true:) 25 Years of meaningful perseverance.
DeleteFoods in Shang is really good.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Philcare card in our company. However, it is just for our own use and does cover our kids. Also, maternity is not covered in the said healthcard.
What about the Post Natal and Pre Natal Consultations?
DeleteWell written post. thanks for the information, but i only have Philhealth, just that :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the compliment. I may suggest the MediCard RxER. It's affordable only, it cost like getting a Philhealth. Here is the link for your additional information: http://whatshotshoutitout.blogspot.com/2012/03/got-healthcare-card-medicard-rxer_4986.html
DeleteMy dad and stepmom was also under an HMO until now but it was Maxicare and they also have great benefits too! Before, I had Medicard but I wasn't able to use it to the fullest! :(
ReplyDeleteMaxicare has this package that good for 5-19 employees and the good thing about it, it has pre-existing condition benefits.
Deleteit's really of great help to have medical cards for health related incidents. getting sick in this country is very expensive and having such cards is really helpful.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right. Mine's benefits has a wide coverage. I actually availed my APE and dental benefits. :)
DeleteMedicard is a must we never know what will happen to us in future but I am not saying we expect it
ReplyDeleteHealthcare coverage must really include in our life's budget.
Deletei love Medicard they provide great service. We are under Intellicare okay din naman sila but not as personalized and as through as Medicard
ReplyDeleteit speaks their mission: providing the best quality managed healthcare services.
Deletei also have medicard from our company. haven't used it though. :)
ReplyDelete~CorbyLove
That's good! It means you are living a healthy life. Though I may suggest if you have dental and APE coverage avail it before expiration. Plus MediCard members may enjoy the perks of using the card itself like discounts in their partner Resorts & hotels (Alegre Beach Resort & Spa, Island Cove).
DeleteI've heard about this card. I wish I'm back home to know more and get my parents one.
ReplyDeleteAn incomparable gift for our parents is securing a health benefits for them. You may get them even you are distance away from home. You may secure proposals from me and study the best benefits for them.
DeleteHi! Nice post... very informative.
ReplyDeleteI am looking into enrolling me and my family to an HMO and been seriously considering Maxicare. I've tried them personally when I was still with my former company, which is by the way also a BPO...
Now that I have my own family and my mom is getting older, I'd love to enroll us to this so I don't have to worry about check-ups and all that. =)
I'll look into this too and see which one is better and would go easy on my pocket =)

Thanks a lot. I really love to disseminate information’s mostly towards health benefits. Maxicare has a family and individual plan. If you like I can provide a copy of rates for your perusal.
DeleteFabulous celeb. And I like the font used in the logo. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah very youthful and refreshing logo.
DeleteHaving medical card is really helpful especially this time, I don't have medicard i used Philhealth only but i think both are helpful. The foods look luscious =)for sure it was a successful event!
ReplyDeleteHMO Card and Philhealth are both useful mostly during confinement. Some of the HMO benefits are designed on top of the Philhealth.
DeleteLooks like a fun time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteYes it was. One of the momentous and exclusive event I enjoyed this first quarter of the year.
DeleteCan I get a medicard for my parent who are over 60? just wondering.
ReplyDeleteYes MediCard offered a HMO Coverage for 61-65 at special premium rate.
DeleteMedicard has come a long way! I'm happy with company's medical insurance too.
ReplyDeleteTheir networks are getting bigger :)
Delete25 years is indeed a reason to celebrate milestones. Congrats
ReplyDeleteIndeed Aileen!
DeleteThat's good news for Medicard users. I'm blessed with a medical insurance coverage which extends to my family. But then, that's the kind of company benefit that you wouldn't wish to use all the time, but wouldn't hurt to be assured that it's there in times of need.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.jejeizahfaye.com
Pearl, I am wondering what HMO Providers caters your family's healthcare needs.
DeleteDistracted. I was looking at the food. haha
ReplyDelete25 years is milestone. I used to have medicard in my previous job. Will have to look into their healthcare plan again.
Foods that night were so luscious. I may suggest have a HMO Benefits again. It will not hurt mostly for your own health needs.
DeleteIt's a need in todays space and time... mahal mahospital.....nice post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vernz. HMO benefits I must say is really a MUST! I was hospitalized before and my card covered all of my expenses. I just paid a Php.100 plus for the miscellaneous.
Deleteoh, 25 years na pala ito...i am a medicard member, benefit from being a call center agaent
ReplyDeleteWow! Congrats for your benefits.
DeleteHMOs these days are really an essential especially when one needs to visit the doctor for a check-up or requires a laboratory exam that may be very costly. P1 a day is a good means of getting one in case this is needed in the future.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post! Thanks for sharing this :)
You're welcome. HMO Coverage is really a help for achieving a well monitored health.
DeleteThank you for the kind comment you left in my blog :)
DeleteOh! Will be glad if you keep us updated with your write-ups through Blogger eHow.
DeleteCelebration seemed to be fantastic. Not sure if I've heard of medicard though, we've been using Intellicare.
ReplyDeleteTruly it is :)
Deletewow! congrats Medicard! cute new logo they've got there!
ReplyDeleteThanks helen for the comment:)
Deletethe new logo is catchy...love it!
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a grand celebration. I've never been to one but I'm sure it will be exciting.
ReplyDeleteIt was really a blast!
Deletei hope the benefits are as good as the celebration! =)
ReplyDeleteMediCard offer comprehensive benefits though it depends upon the client if they go for it.
DeleteOur company hasn't used Medicard but have used quite a handful already. They keep on changing every year. I think it is best if you have a broker that will deal in behalf of your company. In that case the broker can deal for more benefits.
ReplyDeleteThat is for real. Plus brokers lessen the toxicity of handling Healthcare Benefits of the employees.
Deletei have medicard! =) y are we not invited? hehehe
ReplyDeleteMediCard will have more updates. Will keep you posted.
DeleteI've used Medicard before and I can say that I enjoyed the benefits.
ReplyDeleteLizzie of Make More Money Online
The food looks very inviting. Haven't heard of MEdicard as I'm not in the phillipines.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the Healthcare Providers in Singapore?
Deletei kind of miss those times when i'd call the card company to ask if this or that is covered and the ease of going to the hospital for checkups and when hospitalization is needed, you just tell them im covered etc. sobrang dali ng buhay kase i think i only spent some few pesos for food kase covered ng health card :)
ReplyDeleteHealthcare Card really provides good Health benefits.
DeleteHealthcare Card...they are useful for those who need in their hospitalization expenses
ReplyDeletefabulous celebration!!!
ReplyDeleteIn my line of profession, where I'm categorized as self employed we need to get a health insurance for ourselves Im actually on the look out. I heard Caritas is good too.
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to get a health card since I'm self-employed. I find this a serious flaw in government services to be honest. :( Anyway I'll check out your company :)
ReplyDeleteYou may contact us here at 846-0656:)
Deletei used to have a medicard hmo before...
ReplyDeleteIt's good that there are affordable healthcare cards available. Those who are self-employed would be wise to get one for themselves and their families. Our family has no need for one though as we are fully covered by my hubby's employer.
ReplyDeletehealthcare in the Phils should be available to all, hope Medicard will be able to help bridge the gap...
ReplyDeletereally nice, i try to inquire about it a year ago but i still don't have the means to have one because we need to pay our newly acquired house, i do hope our financial capacity would change so i can get one too.
ReplyDeleteGod will surely provide.
DeleteHealth cares are useful, kaya lang we didnt get much benefits from our HMO provider before. We barely get sick, tapos my tito and tita are doctors,it was more convenient consulting them pag may health problem.
ReplyDeleteWhat a laudable years of 25 years of service the MediCard has attained. This is what I like most of any health card, anticipating the medical needs of its clients or holders. MediCard has its own style of catering to the medical and health needs too. Congratz!
ReplyDeleteI think the first health card that I got from my previous company was medicard. ganyan na pala sila katagal.
ReplyDeleteSince I worked with BPOs I've always had Medicard coverage and I got extension cards for my parents too. We've used it a lot and we appreciate this benefit from the company. Go go go Medicard!
ReplyDeleteYey!
DeleteI miss having our Medicard. My hubby quit his job and started working at home last year. Now we don't have HMO. What do you think is the most affordable we can get for our family of four - me, hubby (both 31), baby 17 months, kuya - 7 year old?
ReplyDeletewww.mommydiary.net
You may choose a Family plan. They offered good benefits at a justifiable cost.
DeleteIf you like Paula , I can provide a proposal.
DeleteLooks like a grand celebration!
ReplyDeleteThe last time I heard about Medicare was when i was still in elementary years. Glad they're back. Is there a website for medicare sot hat I could further learn about its benefits?
ReplyDeleteHey Jackie you may visit them here http://www.medicardphils.com/
DeleteYeah they have. You may want to visit them at http://www.medicardphils.com/ or you may contact us 846-0656.
DeleteMouthwatering ang food! I hope to edict medicare card someday
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the medical benefits that my dad had during his time. Of course, we were able to take advantage of it. I'd love to get a proposal for my family. :-)
