City of Henderson: Don't throw it away, Be Smart. Recycle.

Hours ago, we went to the City Hall of Henderson, Tennessee to check on the One Peoples Public Trust (OPPT) paper work that Joshua dropped off weeks ago but we were not able to have it.  But the good thing about our visit was, we found out that the City has an on going program about recycling involving the residents within the City limits.  The recycling program already existed years ago but not 100% of the residents participate.  Obviously, we just found it now!

The catch is they will provide a pack of Blue Trash Bags, 25 pieces each and they will be the one to pick up all the filled bags of recyclable materials every other Friday.  I believe the main goal is to encourage each household to learn the 3R's which are Reduce, Reuse and Recycled.

One more good thing in participating this recycling is that you don't need to sort it out people from the local jail will separate it all into different types and materials.

This actually answered one of my breath prayer a few days ago, I uttered of having an extra garbage container to segregate the biodegradable from non-biodegradable supporting what we envision to do which is the outdoor and indoor herbal and veggie garden to promote the herbalism and holism as a way of life.  Those food scraps and all of the biodegradable items will  be buried for composting and will be use as fertilizer.  We didn't have the container but we received 25 pieces of Blue Plastic Bags.  It exactly fit to what we really need and more than enough.  God is really a provider.  All praises to Him for He knows what's best to us.

Our motivation to participate is inspired by the word of Christ after they fed the 5,000 people to his disciples as written in John 6:12  which says, After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, " Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted." As my fiance says, "the active recycling of your waste, produces good energy". So what are you waiting for? Don't throw it away, Be Smart. Recycle.

For more information in joining and availing the Blue Trash Bag you can call 983-5000 and get in touch with Ms. Sheila of City Hall or visit and be directed to the Henderson recycling program
